Day in the life of a college student in Portland, Oregon

There are a few campus locations in down town Portland Oregon, for several colleges and universities. Probably the easiest to find is the one for Portland State University, which is located right in the heart of Portland.

Once you have the location figured out, as there are also some schools located in the outlying areas, in the hills surrounding the city, you can figure out how you will make your daily commute to classes.

There are several great ways to get around the city of Portland:

  • Bicycle - it's a very bike friendly city.
  • Light Rail - it runs through most of down town, and is very fast.
  • Car - but why would you want to? Probably the least fun method of getting around.

Aside from figuring out the logistics of your daily college routine, you will also want to know about great places to study ( aside from your home desk ), as life can get boring when stuck in doors too often!

Just a few great ways to study outside include the local coffee shops, pioneer square, and the indoor mall in down town. More traditional options of course include the Portland library, the campus library at PSU ( open to the public...), and naturally the campus (if there is one) of the school you chose to attend there.
